ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES & PROGRAMS

The Center's Environmental Services & Programs are dedicated to connecting people with and supporting the health of our natural environment.

Our services include:

Habitat Restoration

The Center’s restoration projects include working with local farmers, state, county, and municipal agencies on public and private lands to restore habitat using site-specific California native plants and established restoration techniques.

Giant Reed Removal and Salmonid Habitat Restoration

Natural Resource Mapping and Data Development

Natural resource mapping provides important information that guides our services and habitat restoration projects. The Center utilizes technology to assist us in the collection and analysis of our assessment data. These include GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS (Global Positioning Systems), and AutoCAD drafting.

●  Environmental Stewardship and Education

Working with local public and private schools and community groups, The Center’s W.A.T.E.R (Watershed Activities to Encourage Restoration) program provides opportunities for local citizens to become stewards of their environment.

Nature Walks

Established in 1978, The Center’s California Native Plant Nursery was one of the first nurseries dedicated to site-specific native plants. We propagate California native plants for local habitat restoration projects. In addition, our nursery provides native and drought tolerant plants for local landscapers and home-gardeners to promote water-wise landscapes.
