WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
CRP's Workforce Development Programs empower
youth and adults to identify and reach personal career goals through a
variety of educational, vocational and career preparation programs.
SonomaWORKS is a structured, four to six
week supervised job search program designed to assist adult
participants with the conceptual and practical aspects of a career plan
approach to finding, obtaining, keeping and advancing in unsubsidized
employment. Participants are immersed in an
atmosphere of self-discovery that focuses on the individual's strengths
and highlights their accomplishments. Each
participant is guided toward career building, including identifying
basic skills, interests and attitudes, and provided with the tools
necessary for a successful job search and job acquisition. Activities include job readiness, resume writing, and setting career goals. Life
skills training such as personal budgeting and money management,
organizational skills, time management, parenting skills, stress and
anger management will also be taught as part of the overall curriculum. Specific eligibility guidelines apply. Contact John Ward at 838-6641, x 220 for information.
Young Adult Employment and Education Services assists youth in becoming successful community members through goal setting and career coaching. Youth
ages 16-21 receive consultation and support towards making career
decisions, applying for work and exploring training
opportunities. Case managers can provide information on job
openings, referrals to supportive services and award incentives for
reaching program goals. This program makes a special effort to
reach high school drop-outs and graduates who are in need of employment
and training opportunities. Specific eligibility guidelines apply. Contact Monique Evans at 838-6641, x 251, mevans@crpinc.org for information. Click
