HISTORY
In
1976 a small group of visionaries sought to create a community-based
organization that offered a variety of youth training activities,
including environmental restoration and video production. Those
initial efforts have blossomed and grown into a complex and successful
organization, yet the core emphasis on youth and the environment
continues.
The name Circuit Rider Productions was
inspired by the traveling judges and clerics, "Circuit Riders" of the
American frontier who traveled year 'round connecting communities.
Today CRP still rides the circuit, working with public and
private agencies and companies to provide support to communities,
families and watersheds. Thousands of young people and families
have benefited from CRP job and counseling programs, watersheds are
being protected in new ways, and communities are stronger.
Community-based organizations face
continual challenges, as economic trends and local needs change and
evolve. For over three decades, CRP programs have continually
expanded and improved to keep pace with the changing world. CRP's
management and operational values have always included running a smart,
efficient, and financially solvent organization. Today, CRP looks forward to expanding services to meet the
needs of the future.
